| It breeds in marshes and forest ponds in the northern half of the United States or southern Canada. It prefers to nidify in the cavities of the trees close to the water, but, if available and not occupied, they may also use artificial nests. Dimensions: 42- 50 cm. Wingspan: 60 - 66 cm | |||||
